Privacy notice
How Desktop Maple Development Advisory collects, uses, and retains personal information.

1. Scope
This notice explains how we handle personal information submitted through desktopmaple.click and during consulting engagements for e-commerce platform integration and customisation.
2. Information we collect
- Identity and contact details (name, email, phone) from enquiry forms
- Project context you volunteer (platforms, partners, preferred call times)
- Technical logs reasonably required to operate the site (IP address, browser type, pages viewed)
- Engagement records (statements of work, meeting notes, credentials you choose to share)
We do not ask for payment card numbers on this site.
3. Purposes
- Responding to scoping requests and scheduling calls
- Delivering contracted consulting work
- Improving site reliability and understanding aggregate visit patterns (if analytics cookies are accepted)
- Meeting legal and accounting obligations in Australia
4. Retention
Enquiry records are kept up to 24 months if no engagement follows, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Engagement files are retained for seven years for accounting and dispute purposes, then reviewed for deletion or anonymisation.
5. Sharing
We share personal information only with:
- Subprocessors needed to host email or document storage, under confidentiality expectations
- Professional advisors (e.g., accountants) when required
- Authorities when legally compelled
We do not sell personal information.
6. International transfers
Some email or infrastructure providers may process data outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection, including contractual clauses where appropriate.
7. Security
We use access controls, least-privilege credentials for client systems, and encourage you to rotate any passwords shared during engagements.
8. Your rights
Subject to Australian law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, or lodge a complaint with us first and, if unresolved, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
9. Children
Services are directed to businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
